About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher, with academic training in Statistics, Statistical Programming, Mathematics, or a strongly quantitative discipline. 

The successful candidate will work with Dr Haiyan Zheng to develop:

  • Innovative approaches that improve the efficiency of data collection and decision making in cancer clinical trials, 
  • Easy-to-implement software applications, such as R packages and Shiny Apps, to enhance the uptake of efficient methods in practice.

A tailored development programme will be provided for the post-holder to develop their knowledge, research and career skills.

They will become a member of Dr Zheng's research group that has a long-lasting relationship with clinical trials units in the UK and pharmaceutical companies around the world. 

This appointment comes with opportunities of visiting The Institute of Cancer Research in London to explore the application of methods newly developed in the projects to real clinical trials. 

The post-holder will leverage all the benefits to build their own collaboration network. 

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a strongly quantitative discipline, ideally Statistics, and have excellent programming skills. 

Knowledge and experience in Bayesian inference, clinical trials, and causal inference will be an advantage.

Salary: Starting from £37,999, rising to £45,163 per annum
